How to start moblogging with Share Online and Flickr
by Naveen Selvadurai
Your Nseries device enables easy uploading of photos and videos with Share Online. Here’s how it works.
Share Online is integrated directly into the Gallery application on your Nseries device. This makes it one of the easiest and fastest ways to post content from your device without the need for special email addresses and upload forms.
You can find detailed configured instructions for supported services Flickr and Vox on their respective sites, but here’s a quick guide to getting started with Flickr on your N95.
1. Go to Gallery, then choose Images & Video.
2. Select Options, then Open Online Service.
3. You’ll see the Flickr service. Choose Options, then Activate, to register your Flickr account with the tool.
4. You’ll be asked for your Yahoo! login details. (If you don’t have a Yahoo!/Flickr account, you can create one at this step.)
5. After you authenticate yourself properly, Flickr will show you a special configuration download link. Click this link to finish setting up your account.
6. Connect to the service to retrieve and synchronize the latest account data between Flickr and your device.
Now, when looking at a picture in either Gallery or Camera mode, you can upload it directly to Flickr. Here’s how:
1. Choose Options, Send, then Web upload.
2. Choose the Flickr account you just created in the steps above.
3. Add a title, tags and a description to your photo. All of these fields are optional, of course, so you can leave them blank if you wish.
4. After this step, choose Options, then Post to web.
Share Online will send your post to Flickr for the world (or the audience of your choice) to see.
I used Share Online 3.0, which is the latest revision to this tool. If you don’t have Share Online or need to update your version, go here. Do you have a different approach for uploading content? Share it in the comments section.
